Our Desire
A big desire for these classes is to create a safe space, built on biblical foundation, to have discussions and build community. In our culture we are being bombarded by information all the time. But the opportunity to share and discuss what we are hearing and learning is scarce.
We also don’t want students to just regurgitate information. We want them to think about what they’re learning and build confidence to speak it out. We want them to solidify their beliefs so they can feel prepared to lead their own groups in the future. We want to create opportunities to put into practice what we’ve heard, learned and believe.
Paul wrote, “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.” Phillipians 4:9 NIV
Information about our school and structure
Relational Discipleship model:
Paul said follow me as I follow Christ (1 Cor 11:1). We often learn by what is modeled around us. We want to learn how to be disciples of Christ who make disciples. We need people in our lives ahead of us and behind us as we learn to walk out a life laid down. We grow well in healthy community where we are encouraged by others also seeking to take the narrow road. We desire relationships that spur and encourage us onward and upward. In these classes we desire to build safe community and for teens to see other teens going deeper with the Lord.
Zoom:
All classes are on Zoom. If anyone is absent, we can record the class for students to watch later. Class times are in the Central Time Zone.
**Zoom recording of classes is only intended for classes in which one of the students misses so that they can watch it later. However, due to the desire for these classes to allow space for vulnerability we reserve the right to not record, or discard any recording, that a student may prefer not to have shared or stored electronically.
Communication outside of class:
Students, and instructors, will be added to a closed group on the Band app where they can have discussion and build community outside of class.
Grades:
At this time we will not be grading the students. You as the parent are ultimately your child’s teacher and you get to grade your student based on your own assessment. HSLDA has some great tips on grading https://hslda.org/teaching-my-kids/grading
Books:
We’ve done our best to select books we believe will benefit our conversations. This does not mean that we support, condone or agree with everything in these books. We will all use discernment as we journey together to find our own beliefs founded on Biblical truth.
***Our family loves audiobooks. For the last couple of years we’ve been using an app called Everand that has a monthly subscription and access to many books. I do recommend owning your own hard copy to highlight or reference quickly.
Registration:
Students will be registered on a first come first served basis. Our class sizes are small, with up to 12 students, and may fill quickly.
Fees:
$50 non-refundable down payment for each class is due with enrollment. Remainder of class fee is due within 2 weeks of enrollment or Dec 24, whichever comes first.
If cost is a concern please talk to us about a scholarship.
*$20 discount for any sibling of first student.
*$20 discount for any friend referral after friend has paid full class fee.

Leadership Class
Healing, Equipping and Activating Leaders is the mission here and so it’s only natural that we have a Leadership training class. In the Leadership class students will co-lead a weekly spiritual disciplines class with Amy and other co-leaders. Students will benefit from the curriculum of the spiritual disciplines class as they prepare for weekly discussion and their times to facilitate discussion. They will also meet with Amy for another class period on Leadership training skills. Leading with the Lord starts with a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Communication, active listening, building rapport, empathetic responses, vulnerability, humility, and other skills will be discussed and highlighted during this class.
