Type A and Type B Trauma

Some neauroscients categorize Type A trauma as the abscene of good things and Type B trauma as bad things happening. I find these definitions easy to remember.

Check out Dr E James Wilder and his books for more on this research. https://lifemodelworks.org/jim-wilder/

Type A trauma = Absence of good things.

Neuroscientists say the way to heal Type A trauma, created by the absence of good things, is by moving forward in healthy relationships. Part of the culture we work to create in our classes is a safe place to heal and build community.

Type B trauma = Bad things happening.

Neuroscientists say the way to heal Type B trauma, which is bad things happening, is by stepping back into the memory and allowing Jesus to heal the wounds and memories. We often do that through spending time with Jesus, inner healing prayer, counseling, etc.

Freedom from inner healing

I think it was around 2016 when I had my first experience with inner healing prayer. I met with a local elder, who was also a licensed counselor, and did what he called “freedom prayer.” In that space he helped me bring Jesus into my pain and trauma and healing came! I met with him occasionally as things would come up and was always encouraged!

Some time after that I started praying for others and specifically addressing lies and replacing them with truth.

In January of 2021 the Lord threw me into deliverance ministry unexpectedly. He did it again later that year. Then in the fall I met a woman who asked to meet with me for prayer ministry. I figured it might be easier to schedule it then be thrown in and so that’s when I officially started taking clients.

Inner healing and deliverance ministry is the ministry of the Holy Spirit. He works in unexpected ways in this space to reveal lies the enemy has placed and replace it with truth. He desires for us to be free! Total freedom can come through salvation but often it is through the process of sanctification. It can take time to peel back the layers of patterns and beliefs we have been carrying around for years. The effort and time is worth it, though, to experience the peace and joy that is on the other side.
