A Bit About Amy
Amy has enjoyed studying communication since college. In early marriage, Amy worked in customer service, marketing, freelance graphic art, and taught gymnastics and dance. While working in Marketing, she volunteered with her church’s Youth Group and volunteered as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
In 2006 Amy decided to stay home when her first son was born.
Being a stay-at-home-mom was harder than Amy thought it would be but she found community, support and value from the women in La Leche League International.
She quickly stepped into Leadership, in 2008, and continued for over 10yrs. During her time with LLLI she facilitated mother-to-mother support groups, responded to email and phone calls, served as local and area director, and trained other Leaders.
During her time with LLLI, Amy also decided to go back to school and became an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) in 2016. She had planned to start a private practice when her boys were old enough to stay home alone.
In 2015, after many years of practice, she started her first small business, Bestowing Henna, creating natural, temporary body art. Her love of art and connecting with people came together in this art form. She truly found it a gift to be allowed in other peoples personal space.
In the 2019-2020 school year God called her to run a Moms In Prayer group which assisted in her growth of prayer.
In 2021 Amy joined the prayer team at her local church.
Also in 2021 the Lord told Amy to enroll in Ascend Academy Ministry school founded by Brian Guerin.
In the fall of 2022 she started volunteering in her church’s youth group as a middle school girls small group leader.
In June 2022 the Lord told Amy to give away both her small business, Bestowing Henna, and the supplies to start her IBCLC private practice. Not knowing what was exactly coming made it hard. She grieved but was obedient. In Nov 2022 the Lord started to speak to her about Raising Generals.
In August of 2023 Amy graduated and was ordained by Ascend Academy School of Ministry stewarded by Brian Guerin.
In 2024 Amy started Raising Generals.
Amy’s current full time job is raising, instructing and equipping her 5 sons!
Amy was always homeschooled and planned to do that with her own children. While it’s not as easy as being the student she loves having her boys at home and training them in school work and life skills.
In the summer of 2023 the Lord started talking to Amy about the need for her boys to be in community where there was a desire to grow deeper in the Lord. That fall she started leading a teen boys spiritual disciplines class. And that is where her offering homeschool classes began.
